Karmesha K. Peake, Mezzo - Classically Trained Musician with a Luscious Voice


Karmesha K. Peake is a NYC based American Mezzo Soprano with a voice of power and beauty. Thus far in 2018, she has sung the role of Waltraute in Die Walküre with Trilogy: An Opera Company. She also covered Kundry for the Metropolitan Opera Guild’s Lecture Recital on Parsifal presented by Jane Marsh, Soprano. She sang Aunt Lizzy in a read through of Mary Watkins’ newest opera Emmett Till with Harlem Opera Theater.   
In 2017 she has been a part of a scenes workshop of the opera Patience and Sarah, by Paula M. Kimper with Lauren Flannigan’s Bootcamp among other local concert performances.
In 2016, she was a featured soloist in Harlem Opera Theater’s Salute to Black History Month Program Presenting the art songs and spiritual arrangements of Harry T. Burleigh. Ms. Peake performed the role of Addie in Marc Blitzstein’s opera Regina with the Bronx Opera.
In 2015 she toured Holland, France and Switzerland featured as the Strawberry Woman in Porgy and Bess with New York Harlem Productions. Likewise, she covered the role of Chloe in H. Lawrence Freeman's opera Voodoo with Harlem Opera Theater and Morningside Opera at Miller Theater, NYC. 
Ms. Peake has participated in the workshop for A Coffin in Egypt, Ricky Ian Gordon's opera which premiered in 2014 at the Houston Grand Opera. She has performed in the ensemble of Houston Grand Opera’s production of Show Boat. Likewise she has graced the stage of the Cincinnati Opera in their productions of Porgy and Bess and La Traviata in their 2012 summer season.  
She has stunned audiences as Mrs. Quickly in Verdi’s Falstaff, Mrs. Harrow in The Power of Xingu, one of the Cercatrici in Sour  Angelica, and the Strawberry Woman in Porgy and Bess while at the University of Kentucky.  Ms. Peake was often a featured soloist in "Grand NIght for Singing," a Musical Theater Revue done annually at the University of Kentucky.
Ms. Peake has been the featured soloist of the “Why Just in February?” Concert Series held biannually at Bellarmine University and was their featured soloist in the 2012 Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC.  
She is a member of the renowned American Spiritual Ensemble that has toured Europe, North and South America. Her other international performance venues include Graz, Austria and Rome, Italy where she was seen in Die Fledermaus and as La Badessa in Suor Angelica.

She currently resides in NYC.
